Description and Main Purpose of Job
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly experienced engineering team developing one of the world’s leading commercial tidal energy systems. Working across the full engineering lifecycle—from concept development and detailed design through manufacture, testing and offshore deployment—you will play a key role in delivering the HydroWing technology and the first phase of the 30 MW Morlais commercial project.
· Lead a small engineering team.
· Support project delivery, schedules and budgets.
· Lead design of HydroWing mechanical systems.
· Develop offshore equipment and installation tooling.
· Engineering calculations and FEA using ANSYS/STAAD.
· Produce SolidWorks models and manufacturing drawings.
· Prepare specifications, reports and design documentation.
· Support procurement, fabrication, FAT and offshore commissioning.
· Participate in design reviews and offshore engineering campaigns.
· Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, clients and certification bodies.
Experience and Skill Level Requirements
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
· Strong experience in offshore equipment, heavy mechanical engineering or renewable energy.
· Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS and STAAD Pro.
· Knowledge of structural steelwork, fabrication and offshore engineering.
· Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
· Experience within tidal energy, offshore wind or marine engineering desirable.
· Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership desirable.
· Willingness to travel offshore as projects require.
